The fifth album from Saint Abdullah & Eomac began as a poem and became a record that refuses to stay in one place. The title arrived in a cab in Paris. µ-Ziq’s Tango N'Vectif was released in 1993, a classic year for auteurist electronic music that didn't always fit on the dancefloor. Written by Mike Paradinas in his late teens with some help from Frank Naughton, it still stands up really well today and its influence on electronic music in the decades since is obvious.

"gauze" was created in direct response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine. The EP draws on real recordings from the current war, from a muezzin continuing the call to prayer inside a bombed out mosque, and the voice of assassinated Palestinian writer and activist Ghassan Kanafani, to documentary audio from a Gaza hospital, the EP moves across dissonant garage beats, footwork and jungle inspired beats and mournful vocal textures to render grief, urgency, and faith.

DeForrest Brown Jr.'s final piece as Speaker Music - is Synoptic Audio. The album is made of live recordings of electronic improvisation, essentially a self-made palette of dense, transporting drone and hand played keyboards and drums. It’s a nexus of jazz and techno at the level of practice. It sounds like a jazz symphonic arrangement of shoegaze/post-rock via Detroit/dub techno, drawing inspiration from Black electronic music pioneer Don Lewis’ pre-MIDI ‘Live Electronic Orchestra’ controller system, and his other machines.
