Hrvatski (a.k.a. Keith Fullerton Whitman)’s sophomore album and debut for Planet Mu, Swarm & Dither, brings together much of Keith’s work done from 1999 -2002 including the much sought after kid606 Vatstep DSP “remix” for the first time on vinyl (not so much remix, as an entirely new track with a couple of kid606 samples); a cover version of Paint It Black done back in ’99 and a grungey version of some Swedish progg tune…
Ranging from early electronic (1948-1969) inspired electroacoustic drones to hyper cut-up and processed breakcore, Hrvatski’s sound sits well at his new home on Planet Mu. His previous album “Oiseaux 96-98” (released in 1998 on his own Reckankreuzungsklankewerkzeuge label) was received very well in both the electronic and dance music scenes and was voted #9 in The Wire Magazine’s year-end bests poll in the electronic music category. Keith has worked with or alongside many of the scene’s luminaries including Thurston Moore & Lee Ranaldo, Jim O’Rourke, Fennesz, Pan Sonic, Michael Karoli & Malcolm Mooney (Can), Oren Ambarchi, Labradford, Suicide, Christian Marclay, Anticon, V/Vm and more… Oh, and it’s a fucking great album too.
