‘The Housebound Spirit’ is the third album from London-based acousmatic composer and Brick Lane ‘face’ John Burton. Very emotional electro-acoustic/computer music in the vein of Parmegiani and Jim O’Rourke mixed with heartfelt folk inspired by Palace Brothers among others. This is very melodic, sensitive and dynamic, not a glitch-fest. John has performed at many electronic music festivals worldwide since his debut ‘Concourse’ in 2000. This album was previewed by a track on the Wire’s 20th Anniversary issue covermount cd, from which he has received many comminsions of work. Follow up to his classic cd ‘Microcontact’
